What is the capital of Papua New Guinea? Who is the number one selling recording artist of all time? What happened for the first time this century in Toronto on February 2nd, 2011? If you know the answers to these questions, know someone who knows the answers or even if you don’t know the answers but would like to find out, then the Cape Breton Transition House Foundation Trivia Night is the place for you.
Trivia Night is held the second Tuesday of each month in Sydney at Governors Pub on the Esplanade at 7:30pm. There are three rounds of team play questions with ten questions per round. Prizes are donated by Governors Pub for first and second place teams. There are also chances to show your own personal grasp of useless information with “quarter questions”. It’s easy – think you know the answer to a quarter question? Raise your hand, pay a quarter, take a guess. If you get it right – you win.
All proceeds from Trivia Night go directly to the Cape Breton Transition House Foundation whose mandate is to raise money to support projects and programs of Cape Breton Transition House (a safe haven for abused women and their children), to acquire money or furnishings and goods for use in Cape Breton Transition House and to conduct public education projects. Trivia Night is a new fundraising initiative developed by the Board of the Foundation.
The next trivia night is taking place on February 8th, 7:30pm – [EDIT: Postponed due to storm] at Governors on the Esplanade. For more information, visit the Cape Breton Transition House Foundation website at: www.transitionhousefoundation.com
