Friday
Steve Fifield at Governor’s Pub at 10:00pm
An evening of country, jazz and blues with Steve Fifield. Steve will be joined by Sudbury Ontario native Steve Caruso. Steve Fifield’s map of Sydney takes you to street level–to the scenes through living room windows in the north end, to the dark nights out back of the Sydney forum, to good people. Drawing his inspiration from the traditional music of the Mississippi Delta and short fiction masters like Raymond Carver and Allistair MacLeod, Fife’s tunes are dusting the coke dust off the face of a beautiful and beleaguered town. A studied guit-picker, Fife’s delta blues heavy thumb holds its own alongside Mississippi John Hurt without flinching.
