Velo Cape Breton will host its annual winter potluck, the first of an exciting winter line-up of activities, clinics and socials, this Saturday at the Dobson Yacht Club at 5:30 pm. The potluck is open to all the VCB membership, their friends, and all would-be members desiring to enjoy a friendly get-together with enthusiastic people.
The outline for the evening consists of good food, awards, games, slide shows, prizes, an outline of the winter season program of clinics, sport activities and socials. Awards celebrating the 2010 riding season will be handed out in the following eight categories: Commuter of the Year, Participant of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Most Improved Cyclist, Most Motivating Member, Ride Leader of the Year , The Bicycle Friendly Award and Best VCB Chapter.
What to bring?
People with family names starting with any letter from A to M are asked to bring their yummiest main-course type delicacies that could feed 5-6 persons. Those with family names starting with any letter from N to Z are asked to bring dessert.Attendees are reminded that there will be a fully equipped restaurant type kitchen on site so food can be warmed up and are encouraged to bring your own dish/plate, silverware, cup, and cloth napkin to reduce the amount of waste generated.
