The newest cast member of the award-winning show This Hour Has 22 Minutes is launching his Maritime “Laugh Every Day Tour” in 2019, appearing in Sydney at the Highland Arts Theatre on Friday, January 25.
Trent McClellan, originally from Corner Brook, Newfoundland, is a stand-up comedian, writer, podcaster and actor known for his approachable, candid and effortless observational comedy.
McClellan may be best known for his role on CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes. He joined the cast in 2017 after contributing as a writer for several years. He has had numerous filmed television performances from the Just for Laughs Montreal, Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy festivals for CBC Television, and has recorded comedy specials for CTV and the Comedy Network.
McClellan is also a favourite on the Canadian airwaves. He can be heard on the popular CBC radio program “The Debaters,” and he was a panelist on CBC’s Canada Reads where he defended February by Lisa Moore. McClellan developed and produces his own regular podcast series called The Generators which is available on TuneIn Radio and on iTunes.
McClellan is excited to start this ten-date tour, saying, “I love standup so much because a room full of strangers all laughing at the same time about the same thing is one of the purest forms of connection there is in this crazy world! I can’t wait for this tour to start and to get these crowds laughing.”
