Tickets are now on sale for the Cape Breton University Alumni Association’s Annual General Meeting and Awards Night Gala. This event will take place the evening of Wednesday, September 29 at the university campus.
“We are very excited to be hosting our first Awards Gala”, said Keith MacDonald, President of the Cape Breton University Alumni Association. “CBU has over 14,000 alumni that are out making incredible strides of growth and progress within the local, national, and international communities, and this evening has been initiated to celebrate their extraordinary impact.”
The Awards Night Gala will honour the following four local alumni for their dedicated volunteerism, their outstanding careers, or their achievement in service: Kirk MacRae as Friend of Cape Breton University; Marlene Usher as Alumna of the Year; Mark Sparrow as Young Alumnus of the Year; and George Unsworth with the CBU Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Association’s Annual General Meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the Sydney Credit Union Boardroom with a reception to follow.
The awards presentation and dinner will commence at 7 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Room.
Individual tickets are available at $25 each, or by table of 7 at $175. Tickets can be purchased at the Cape Breton University Students’ Union until Friday, September 24.
