The Celtic Colours Box Office will be bustling Tuesday morning, July 9, as tickets for the 23rd Celtic Colours International Festival go on sale at 10am (ADT). Featuring 52 concerts and more than 300 Community Cultural Events, Celtic Colours 2019 takes place October 11-19 in 79 communities all over Cape Breton Island.
Tickets can be purchased online through celtic-colours.com, by phoning 888-355-7744 (toll free in North America) or 902-567-3000 (local/overseas), and in person at the Celtic Colours Box Office, 37 Nepean Street in Sydney where, on Tuesday morning, Donna Marie DeWolfe and Joël Chiasson will be playing some tunes. There will also be free tea, coffee and snacks provided by Tim Hortons.
“We will likely reach maximum call volume at 10am,” says Box Office manager Dave Douglas. “If you cannot get into the queue right away please keep trying. While we do have extra staff on the phones it may take quite some time to get through. Please be patient and we will answer your call as soon as we can.”
Calling in using multiple phones, or calling both phone numbers will not connect you any faster, notes Douglas, it will only tie up more spaces in the queue.
“Both the toll free and local number filter to the same phone system,” he explains. “Once you’re in the queue and on hold, your space is secured and your call will be answered in sequence.”
Douglas also recommends having your wish list at the ready when you call and having a Plan B in place in case your first choice sells out.
“If you can’t get the tickets you were hoping for, please call us after Tuesday to be put on a wait list. While being on a wait list does not guarantee that you will get into the show, we are able to help many people every year through wait-listing. If you need assistance in planning your trip or selecting which shows you’d like to see, please call us back later in the week when we can spend time chatting with you to help with your plans.”
