In 2012, Johnny Aucoin, Aaron Lewis and Stephen Muise hung up their Three Pianos jackets, after a decade of performances together and Cape Breton audiences have been begging for them to come back ever since! The Savoy Theatre’s 90th Anniversary year was the perfect opportunity to make that happen. So, the popular trio has agreed to come back for two shows only, just in time for Mother’s Day. As part of the Down Home Classic Concert Series, The Three Pianos will once again take to the stage and re-live some of their best show moments, during the weekend of May 13th and 14th.
Cast member Stephen Muise says the guys are looking forward to coming together for the Savoy’s anniversary year.
“We all feel like the Savoy Theatre is our second home, so we knew we had to part of the 90th celebration in some way. It didn’t take much convincing when I called Aaron and Johnny to throw the idea by them. Aaron and I have the chance to play together all the time, but we haven’t played with Johnny since 2012. It’ll be a great reunion for us,” said Muise.
On Sunday, May 14, the Savoy Theatre is also excited to be able to offer a limited number of Mother’s Day turkey dinners with all the trimmings – for additional purchase – from The Red Curtain Café, making the theatre a literal one-stop shop for Mother’s Day.
Sitting squarely behind 88 of their own magical keys, the trio, along with their band mates are known for their unique, dynamic and fun-filled performances. Show goers will be treated to two hours of laughter and song as the trio dusts off their favourite set lists and stories. Since the group is revisiting their favourite moments, they’re also happy to welcome back Jordan Crocker and Martina Lewis as their special guests.
As always, The Three Pianos are ready to deliver a show fit for every taste and age. Whether you’re a fan of the old classics, rock and roll, traditional, country gospel or blues, this is the show for you. Three pianos, three personalities…one great show!
