The first annual Northside Family Fair is happening this coming weekend (September 30 – October 2) in North Sydney at the Northside Community Centre, the new arena located at 175 King Street.
There will be a Vendor Market happening for the duration of the weekend with over 30 vendors selling a wide variety of items including crafts, clothing, health & beauty supplies, household appliances, décor items, books, collectible die-cast, music, jewelry, quilts, fabric art, specialty food and lots more. Entrance fee is $3 (children 10 and under enter for free). There will be a wide variety of musicians busking in the Vendor Market to entertain shoppers (Ryan & Boyd MacNeil, Noah Reashore, Richard Finney, Seton Elementary School Choir, Kelly MacAurthur School of Dance, Ed & Daniel MacDonald, Gary Nicholson & Roy Bennett, Steven MacNeil, Mairi Thom, Chalk Dust, TC5 and more). The market will be open Friday (4pm – 9pm), Saturday (10am – 8pm) and Sunday (noon – 5pm).
On Friday evening Ollie Around will be hosting a Game of S.K.A.T.E. skateboard competition with lots of great prizes and giveaways. Registration begins at 5pm with a $5 fee and two age groups (13 & under, 14 & over).
On Saturday and Sunday there will be games and activities for the whole family. On Saturday (noon-6pm) and Sunday (noon–5pm), there will be Big Bounce – bounce tents, and Partyflicks movie and video game screens. On Saturday (10am–6pm) and Sunday (noon–5pm) there will be a Twin Lighthouse Farms petting zoo, face painting, Walmart Lucky Key game (pick the right key to win a child-sized bike), balloon animals, needle in a haystack, fish game, bean bag toss, CBI Pumpkin Weight game (guess the weight of the pumpkin to win an hour of pool time at the Northside Community Pool and tickets for two to a Dinner Theater & silent auction see the Kim Dunn Trio with dinner for two), photo booth, craft corner and raffle draws for a quilt and for a birthday party package (Big Bounce rental, as well as cake and pizza donated by Jaken Custom Homes Ltd).
