The Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design’s annual craft market, the Christmas Loft, is one of Cape Breton’s foremost Christmas events. Known for its exquisite juried craft, this show has been providing a special holiday experience for over twenty-five years.
For two days—Friday, November 27 to Saturday, November 28—shoppers can browse through booths displaying work of exceptional originality, design and craftsmanship. The Christmas Loft is the place for those special gifts of timeless appeal and quality.
New this year, Executive Chef Todd MacIntyre of Keltic Lodge will provide demonstrations of special holiday entertaining ideas. There will also be craft demonstrations of pottery, jewellery and quilting which will highlight the techniques used in each discipline. Kids Corner is a chance for children to have some fun making their own Christmas ornaments, while parents enjoy their shopping experience.
On Thursday, November 26 from 5-9pm shoppers, by invitation, can experience Holiday Spirit, an evening of fine craft, music and martinis in support of the Centre’s programs. This is an exclusive opportunity to get a first look at the dazzling array of one of a kind items and a kick-off to the holiday social season.
A treasure trove of dazzling and unique gifts awaits you as well as an opportunity to meet the designers and see firsthand demonstrations of how the work is produced.
“What makes this show a memorable visitor experience is the quality and selection of fine craft and art created by our highly skilled and talented artists,” says Carol Beaton, the Centre’s Executive Director.
