The Bras d’Or Lakes is a unique environment shaped by the plants, fish and animals that live in and around it. It is also influenced by people and organizations that work hard as stewards of the Bras d’Or Lakes.
“Through this award program, CEPI wants to commend current contributions while encouraging others to implement similar actions to improve water quality and the natural environments of the Bras d’Or Lakes.” says Charlie Dennis, chair of the CEPI Management Committee.
The deadline for nominations is March 6, 2015. Nomination forms are available at brasdorcepi.ca. Members of the CEPI board will review each nomination and will select a winner in each category. Categories include youth, individual, business, community or not for profit group. Honorary mentions may also be awarded to suitable nominees. Please read the guidelines for more information on the process.
Last year’s Golden Award winners included Lynn Baechler for the Individual category, Easy Dive Cape Breton for the Industry/Business category, Richard Parsons for the Youth category and Race the Cape Association for the Community category.
CEPI includes communities, governments and Mi’kmaq people who share a common thread — a profound dedication to the Bras d’Or and to its people.
