Rocky The Flying Squirrel and Bullwinkle The Moose are recalled from re-run purgatory to help a plucky FBI agent save the world from no-goodniks Boris and Natasha, and their fearless leader, Fearless Leader. Excellent kiddie feature that should get more than a few chortles out of their parents who might remember the original cartoon series. Piper Perabo, as special agent Karen Sympathy, doesn’t look much older than her inner child. Jason Alexander and Rene Russo are fine as B & N, with Russo, just for her wardrobe, coming out ahead. (FYI: SCTV’s Dave Thomas and Sally Kellerman first played these characters in 3-D form with a hilarious cameo by a pre-comeback John Travolta). Of course, the weirdest moment belongs to Robert DeNiro, who, as Fearless Leader, kids his “Are you looking at me?” scene from Taxi Driver. This is a fun flick, but I’m still hoping for “Super Chicken’s” big screen debut.
