All shows are presented by the Town, 101.5 the Hawk, The Reporter, and Maritime Inns and Resorts.
Kicking off the new season on September 13 in the Shannon Studio is New Brunswick native Andy Brown, a three-time International Songwriting Competition Finalist, who has emerged as a must-see performer on the Canadian music scene.
On October 10th, Celtic Colours returns with their Festival opening The Ties that Bind, featuring Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, as well as Swedish group, Väsen. At 8pm, on November 8th, Catherine MacLellan takes the stage in the Shannon Studio. It is Catherine MacLellan’s voice that strikes you first. Pure and haunting, it caresses softly, insinuating itself into your heart, and just won’t let go. Then, the subtle strengths of her deeply confessional, powerfully poetic songs emerge, revealing hidden layers with every listen.
From jamming in Jon Landry’s apartment to thrashing with electric guitars on stages in Canada and across the pond, The Stanfields have come back to their beginnings. The award-winning band will have a chance to sit down and play a while when they come to Port Hawkesbury. The Halifax group are bringing the acoustic sounds of their new CD For King and Country to the Maritimes. It offers a different dynamic than fans may be used to. They’ve received a great response from this third record and look forward to sharing it with Strait Area listeners. The cabaret-style Pub event is on November 22, from 9pm-12am in the Bear Head Conference Room.
Rounding out the 2014 line-up are two Christmas shows taking place in the SAERC Auditorium.
