The Cape Breton Fudge Company offers a rare Friday night performance when they present “An Evening with RoSa” on Friday, June 24, from 6pm to 9pm.
RoSa, made up of sisters Jenifer and Emily Dingwall along with percussionist Darrick MacLeod, have been playing the local Cape Breton music scene for about five years. They have just released their first single, “I Don’t Even Know You” (written by Grammy award winner, Gordie Sampson), from their debut album of the same name.
The other ten tunes on I Don’t Even Know You were written by the Dingwall sisters and MacLeod. The album was produced by Jamie Foulds, of Soundpark Studios.
On their Facebook page, RoSa describes their sound as “eclectic, with influences of country, folk and rock working together to play up RoSa’s penchant for stellar vocals and hair-raising harmonies.”
The June 24 show will feature tunes from their album and some old favorites.
The Fudge Company show will include some delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by Flavor Creative Catering. Come and enjoy a fine evening at one of the latest and neatest places to hang out, listen to some of the Island’s great music and indulge in some sweets and treats.
Seating is limited. Tickets are $12.50, and can be purchased at the Cape Breton Fudge Co. Café, 15 Prince Street, in the lower level of the Smart Shop.
The Fudge Company also has a regular Saturday afternoon music session featuring the best in local acts. To see some video from these sessions, visit:
