This Mother’s Day, the Cape Breton University Boardmore Theatre invites you to experience an entertaining show featuring some of the best known and loved Broadway songs. The show hits the stage at 2pm and 7pm on Sunday, May 13.
“Broadway Showstoppers is an exciting collection of some of Broadway’s most thrilling music including songs from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Cats, Chicago and many others. This is definitely a perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day,” says Director, Paul Gatchell.
Gatchell–a well-known singer and actor who spent the last ten years performing in many of Canada’s larger theatres as Phantom in Phantom of the Opera–will perform in the Mother’s Day special, along with a talented cast of twenty-five Cape Breton performers.
As a bonus, patrons’ tickets will be entered into a ballot box for a chance to win a custom-made, hand-forged, white and yellow gold family ring, finished with the winner’s family gemstones. The ring is made in Cape Breton by creative genius, Rob Bowden and the draw will take place during the evening show.
And as if a 25 person cast singing your Broadway favourites and a chance to win a custom, hand-made ring, isn’t enough, there will also be a selfie-throne photo booth available on-site—a perfect opportunity to take a fun pic with the queen of the day, your Mom! Plus save your ticket stub for a 15% discount on your next dinner at any Flavors restaurant.
“This show is a first for the Boardmore and we are looking at making it an annual event,” says Todd Hiscock, Boardmore Playhouse Director.
Tickets are $20 each and are available at the Boardmore Box Office, 1-5PM, Monday to Friday; Bowden Jewellery Repair and Cape Breton Curiosity Shop on Charlotte Street in Sydney.
