Much loved local funk outfit Slowcoaster will release its latest album Darkest of Discos this Saturday at the Sydney Curling Club beginning with an all ages Halloween party from 7 – 9pm followed by a liscenced event for those 19 and over from 11pm – 2am. Tickets are available only at the door for both events. Admission to the all ages event is $5 or $15 for admission and a CD while admission to the later party is $10 or $20 for both entrance and a CD.
The majority of the new album was recorded at Lakewind Sound Studio by Mike Shepherd except for the initial single “War on War” which was recorded at Soundpark studios by Darren Gallop and Albert Lionais.
The album retains the signature guitar / bass / drums Slowcoaster sound that mixes high energy dance tunes with pop hooks and a playful sense of humor. We’ll have a full review in the upcoming week but in the meantime enjoy the album’s first single “War on War” which has been heard in frequent rotation on rock radio stations across the country.
