JCI Cape Breton, in partnership with Trio, invites all members and friends of JCI to their first Martini & Chocolate Soiree, on Saturday, May 14, 8:30 pm to 1 am, at Cambridge Suites, 380 Esplanade, Sydney.
On the menu are specialty martinis and delicious Fair Trade chocolate fondue at the Cambridge Suites’ newly renovated lounge room along with an opportunity to mix and mingle while also raising awareness on the importance of fair trade and responsible purchasing.
All Fair Trade chocolate will be purchased from Just Us! – Canada’s first Fair Trade coffee roaster whose mission is “people and the planet before profits” and all proceeds will be donated to the Cape Breton Farmers’ Market not-for-profit cooperative. The Cape Breton Farmers’ Market follow a “think global, act local” philosophy, supporting environmentally sustainable community development and a fair-trade ethic.
Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, a silent auction will be held throughout the night showcasing the talents, skills, and savvy of Cape Breton’s entrepreneurs.
Entertainment will be provided by Cape Breton’s own singer songwriter, Breagh MacKinnon, who just released her self-titled debut album in January.
JCI Cape Breton is part of a national organization that describes itself as Canada’s premier youth leadership development organization with active chapters from coast to coast. It is also affiliated with Junior Chamber International, a world wide federation of young leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs.
Anyone interested in an evening of sophisticated beverages and treats and great tunes should RSVP by Thursday, May 12, to Jill McPherson at jill@jcicapebreton.com.
Tickets are $30 for the general public and $25.00 for JCI Members and each ticket includes 1 free martini, 15% off dinner at Trio, and all-you-can-eat fair trade chocolate.
