For the first time ever, Cape Breton gourmets and gourmands will have a chance to partake in the Savour Food and Wine Show when it takes place in Sydney, at Membertou Trade & Convention Centre on Thursday, May 19 from 7pm to 9:30pm.
A popular attraction in Halifax, the Sydney edition of the event will transform the Membertou facility into a foodie’s delight with over 35 booths with an excellent mix of restaurants and beverage vendors.
The Savour show is organized by the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia in partnership with Destination Cape Breton with the aim of celebrating more of the great culinary talents that exist in Cape Breton.
Participating restaurants and retailers include Allegro (Sydney), Black Spoon Bistro (North Sydney), Cape Breton Fudge Company (Sydney), Harvest Wines & Spirits (Halifax), Sainte Famille Winery (Windsor, NS) and Trio (Sydney).
Event goers will have the opportunity to visit each booth, tasting what has been prepared for them for the evening, tantalizing their tastebuds and discovering the culinary scene that is Cape Breton.
One of the highlights of the Savour Food & Wine Festival is the “Dine Around Nova Scotia!” program which sees participating restaurants across the province create three-course, prix fixe menus, showcasing an array of Nova Scotia product and creativity.
The Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia is a non-profit association that seeks to promote the food and beverage sector and impact the operating environment of the industry in a positive way. Through government advocacy, marketing, promotion, partnerships, education and outreach, RANS has successfully represented the food and beverage sector since 1947.
Savour Cape Breton is presented with support from Destination Cape Breton, Cape Breton County Economic Development Authority, Department of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism, and the Cape Breton Post.
