The Loaves and Fishes Community Kitchen in downtown Sydney is inviting avid runners and walkers to participate in the Ho-Ho Hustle fundraiser on Sunday, December 5. Participants can bring a non-perishable food item or make a cash donation to help the organization meet the needs of the less fortunate members of the community this winter.
Runners or walkers can choose to start anytime between 2:00pm and 4:00pm, and can choose any distance beginning on the Esplanade, out to King’s Road, and then back towards Loaves and Fishes to finish. A social will be held at 4:00pm at Loaves and Fishes, where hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Wearing Santa hats, jingle bells, and any other festive clothing during the run is encouraged. The Ho-Ho Hustle is a non-competitive, self-supported event without course marshalls or water stops on route.
The Loaves and Fishes Community Kitchen in downtown Sydney serves a hot meal every day, and in the course of a year serves well over 50,000 individual meals. The demand for meals increases in the winter, when heating costs put an additional strain on personal and family budgets. For more information on loaves and fishes, call (902)539-5182.
