Racquetball is one of the most popular indoor sports in North America. It offers both aerobic and anaerobic benefits, improving cardiovascular health and increasing flexibility and range of motion. It is also a family friendly sport that parents and children can play together. Why not take the opportunity to check out some intense racquetball action; either as a participant or a spectator at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre during the 2011 E-Force Racquetball Tournament. This event is the first sanctioned racquetball tournament being held at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. Organizers say over 50 participants have already registered with some coming from around the Atlantic Provinces as players prepare for the 2011 National Racquetball Championships being held at the same venue in May. Participants will compete in Men’s, Ladies and Junior Singles and Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Seating will be available 50 for spectators.
Those looking to take part can register online until Wednesday 1/12/2011 at 9:00 PM or by phone at 902-483-2499. Play starts at 6:00 PM on Friday 1/14/2011.
For those new to the sport a clinic will be held Friday at 4:30 at the Port Hawkesbury YMCA. Phone 625-4600 for more information.
