NUMBER ONE WITH A BULLET. House of Rock rock ragers Rock Ranger have made it to the top of the CKDU 97.5 FM charts for the week ending July 3rd. Their second album Sing Along climbed to the #1 spot from number 24 last week leaving more established garage rock bands Hot Hot Heat and The White Stripes in their wake. CKDU 97.5 FM is the campus / community station for Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS and their weekly Top 30 chart program Radio Numerica can be heard Thursdays at 10:30 am online at ckdu.dal.ca. A note of caution however; upon listening to Sing Along one may become anything from disappointed to disgusted with much of what passes for rock music these days; from Sum 41 to, yes, even Queens of the Stone Age. Rock Ranger plays at Chandler’s in Sydney Saturday night with I Was A Spy. For more Rock Ranger dates visit houseofrock.ca.
About WGO staff
Since 1995, WGO has had a hard-core crew of regular writers who would sometimes put stories together from various sources or cut and paste information from press releases. There is usually very little actual writing involved in these operations, but someone's gotta do the cutting and pasting and assembling. WGO staff is that someone.
