ACAP Cape Breton is asking Cape Breton readers to dive into and discuss an environmental best seller in this season’s environmental book club pick. Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv is the second pick of the Pages for Planet book club.
Pages for the Planet began in February as part of ACAP Cape Breton’s 20th Anniversary celebrations. With very positive feedback, the book club returns this season with this notable book and a new environmental topic. Last Child in the Woods is an international bestseller and coined the term “nature-deficit disorder”.
“We are pleased to announce the second book club pick after the success of the first discussion,” says Susan King, Executive Director at ACAP Cape Breton. “This book brings up an interesting topic and we hope that Cape Bretoners will join in on this discussion.”
Interested readers can pick up a copy at ACAP Cape Breton for a $5 deposit or find the title at the Cape Breton Regional Library. The book club will meet during Environment Week on Wednesday, June 6 at 7pm at ACAP. Everyone is welcome to participate.
