Caper Radio is back with more stand up comedy this week–Wednesday, April 11 at Rollie’s Wharf in North Sydney and Thursday, April 12 at Daniel’s Pub in Sydney. Admission for each show is $8 at the door. Doors open at 8:30pm, show starts at 9pm, and both shows are restricted to 19 and over.
The headliner of the event is Brian Aylward. Aylward is originally from Newfoundland, but he spent some time in Cape Breton and is now living in Halifax. He also spent some time in Seoul, Korea and started a comedy room there which is still going to this day. He performed at The Newfoundland Screech Comedy Fest last year and will be performing this year at The Ha!lifax Comedy Fest. Aylward was also dubbed “Halifax’s Funniest” last year by Q104, was a finalist on Canada’s Next Top Comic, and has performed all over the Maritimes and Ontario.
Hosting the event will be Halifax stand up comedy veteran, Ian Black. Black is a staple in the Halifax Comedy scene and has frequented every room from Halifax to his home province, British Columbia. He just won the 2nd Annual Ha!ifax’s Funniest Contest hosted by Q104 and will be be performing at The Ha!lifax Comedy Fest. Black is also a regular performer at The Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club.
Also performing will be local comic Stefan MacNeil, who has frequented every comedy room in Halifax and in Sydney, including at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre and Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club. MacNeil will also be performing alongside Bette MacDonald and Maynard Morrison Saturday, April 14 at The Cedar’s Club in Sydney. Rounding out the lineup is Ash Young who has performed many times here in Sydney.
