Yuk Yuk’s popular brand of stand up comedy makes its regular visit to the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre on Saturday, March 12. Doors open at 7 pm, the show starts at 9 pm, and admission is for those 19 years and older.
Onstage for this performance are Derek Sequin, Francois Weber, and Matt Stewart.
Derek Seguin has been named to the top ten funniest stand-up comedians in the Montreal Mirror’s “Best of” readers’ poll since 2006 and has earned fans from coast to coast in Canada.
Following an intense year of touring, Seguin has appeared at several Just for Laughs and Juste pour Rire comedy festivals, the CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival, The Global Vancouver Comedy Festival, the CBC Halifax Comedy Festival, and The Grand Rire du Québec Comedy Festival. As well, he has made over a dozen appearances on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters”.
Award-winning stand-up comedian, actor and playwright François Weber recently appeared at the CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival and was one of a select group of comedians to perform at the Opening Night Gala of The Halifax Comedy Fest 2010.
Weber has also appeared at The Hubcap Comedy Festival in Moncton, The Charlottetown Festival and numerous touring with Gerry Dee (winner of the 2008 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Canadian Comic).
Over the past few years, Matt Stewart, an up-and-comer in the Maritime standup scene, has been a featured comedian at the 2009 and 2010 Off-Centre Comedy Festivals, and performed standup with Yuk Yuks, at Joker’s Comedy Club and as a part of the famed Charlottetown Festival.
