To The Editor:
I have no idea what the hell’s going on with the Nicholson I Drive album (reviewed WGO # 28). I am the sole writer of “County Town” and as for “Tears of Joy”, though originally written by me, it was re-written with only Rob Laidlaw as the second writer. I have no problem with artists wanting to promote themselves as writers but when it comes to falsely taking credit for co-writing one of MY songs, well, you have to understand the anger.

Dear What’s Goin On,
Recently in Halifax, I discovered your fine magazine in the Cape Breton Tea Room, picking up the four issues they had: January, March, July, and August 1998. Enclosed please find my cheque for $35.00 for a subscription. (I was not sure of your tax so I’m guessing). Please begin with the issue following August 1998. If your offer of two free back issues still holds, I should like copies of Nos. 2 (July ’95) and 7 (December ’95). Would it be possible to purchase a complete run of your back issues (excepting the “sold out” ones) from the beginning to the end of 1997? I must say I am very impressed with your magazine, and wish some of the publications around Toronto were as good.
Yours truly

Now that “What’s Goin On” is into its third year of publishing would it please be possible to instruct your contributors to never again use the phrases “legendary”; “much anticipated” or any sentence in which any form of the verb “to blow” is paired with the word “away”? English is such a versatile, colourful language and dictionaries are cheap.

I just wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoy your magazine. Is there any way I could order the magazine and how much would they cost.
Thank you,
