The organisers of Lumière: Contemporary Art . Unconventional Spaces have extended the deadline for submissions from artists wanting to participate in the 2012 festival. Technical problems have unexpectedly and unavoidably delayed the submission process.
Organizers are extending the deadline for submissions to the nighttime art event until May 14. Artists who have submitted their proposals for the original April 30 deadline will be contacted by Laura Schneider from CBU Art Gallery to confirm the status of their proposals.
“We’ve been contacted by a number of artists who have had difficulty getting their Lumière project proposals to us,” says Schneider. “We now realize there was an error in the address and in order to be fair, we’re extending the deadline until May 14 for artists to submit.”
Artists who had submitted to the original deadline but have not received confirmation are encouraged to contact Laura Schneider at (902) 563-1852 or laura_schneider@cbu.ca to verify receipt of submissions or to submit. Proposals sent by mail should be post marked no later than May 14 2012.
Lumière: Contemporary Art . Unconventional Spaces is a nighttime art festival that seeks to challenge artists, to challenge the audience and build awareness and appreciation of the arts in Cape Breton. Organizers of Lumière encourage artists seeking to participate in the 2012 festival to be new and innovative with their proposed projects.
