The Cape Breton Music Industry Cooperative will host its annual fundraiser, Love Jazz, on Saturday 15th February 2014. The evening, hosted at Flavor 19, will include a gourmet five-course meal with a glass of wine and entertainment by local jazz group the Joe Waye Trio with special guests and Breagh MacKinnon. Treat your loved one to a romantic, elegant evening that is sure to impress. The Cape Breton Music Industry Cooperative (CBMIC) is a regional music industry association mandated to grow and support Cape Breton’s music Industry. Active since 2008, CBMIC has brought together the Island’s leading artists and industry professionals to advance the organizations mandate. Through this work CBMIC, has helped over one hundred emerging and established artists and industry professionals to develop their careers through educational workshops, showcasing, an international export-funding program and outgoing international trade missions. CBMIC has brought approximately half a million dollars to the local economy through its programming and has successfully bid on and attracted events such as East Coast Music Week and Nova Scotia Music Week to the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
