Fall is easily my favourite time of year. The things that I am allergic to all summer have finally died off, and the temperature drops down a bit so everyone isn’t a sweaty, agitated mess. Yes, fall is just better for everyone in my opinion.
That said, there are a few things in particular about the fall that I am looking forward to. Here they are in no particular order:
Lumiere. Specifically the Art-at-Night event. It’s just super fun to wander the streets of downtown and look at cool, unexpected art in cool, unexpected places. Plus, you always run into people that you don’t see that often (perhaps not since last year’s Lumiere!) and you can grab some evening hot beverages or cookies or something.
Hot beverages and cookies. Sometimes those things make you feel gross in the summer (“Ugh, this is too warm” or “gross! It melted all over my hand, now I am a disgusting mess! Damn you, summer!”) but in fall, they are just tasty.
Sweaters. I’m a sweater guy. Always have been. And fall is just the right temperature where you can wear a sweater (cardigan is my particular fave, but perhaps you like a good pullover or hoodie, I’m not here to judge) but not yet have to wear a coat over it. Good times to be alive and have a sweater.
Hank’s Pumpkin Patch. This is not something that I have ever done before, but this year I have a one-year-old, and I can’t imagine anything cuter than sitting him in a pile of pumpkins (while he wears a super cute sweater, I should add). And there’s a maze! A corn maze! C’mon!
Halloween. As much as I like sweaters, I like Halloween more. It’s very near my birthday, so it’s always had a special place in my heart, and as a result, I tend to go pretty overboard with it. This year I have plans. Big plans. I want to be “that house” and I plan to make it happen this year. You’ll hear about it, I’m sure.
There are a lot of other things. I literally cannot think of anything I don’t enjoy about fall. This is just for starters. So yeah—how about you? What are you looking forward to in the coming weeks?
