The Bayside in Whycocomagh will sponsor the launch of a new book by local author Micheal Magnini. His wonderful new release is entitled Honey Plants of Eastern Canada.
As a local beekeeper, Mr. Magnini is intimately familiar with the flora of Cape Breton and Nova Scotia and has now made his extensive knowledge available to the public. The book is scientifically cross-referenced and is filled with spectacular colour photographs.
Aimed at a general audience, the book provides useful and practical information for gardeners, naturalists as well as beekeepers. A wonderful reference for yourself or as a gift for someone else.
The book launch will be from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, December 11. Mr. Magnini will be signing copies of his book and he will be available to answer questions on any aspect of beekeeping. There will be taste samples of the honey from his bees – what a treat, all around!
The Bayside offers a full-service garden center with a Christmas department, a florist shop, a vibrant seasonal farmers’ market and is also home to Charlene’s Restaurant. The Bayside is located in Whycocomagh at 9657 Trans Canada Highway across from the old Legion.
