This long awaited first full length from one of St. John’s longest standing rock bands is definitely worth the cover charge at The Ship Inn. This is an honest and understated rock album which doesn’t betray any of the grit of the band’s live performance. Standout songs include the short but large ‘where i live’ and the beautiful and anthemic ‘love song to me(n)’ which seems to speak of the awe of motherhood, “I give you form and I make you born… a baby boy, a boy baby and you’re looking up to me”. ‘Parallel Universe’ rocks and a cover of artist/madman Mike Wade’s ‘You’ll Get Yours’ is there for good measure. But don’t believe everything you read, support the cause and spend the fifteen bucks. It won’t kill you nearly as fast as three packs of smokes. – mike morrison
