WGO # 17 – DECEMBER 1996
– “A very popular calendar featuring Moxham’s Castle used as the CBLA headquarters.”
-“After the party, tried to cash in on last year’s success!”
– Missed a year
– “A lady remarked on how she loved the toaster. The pipers with wings turned up as angels.”
– ” So much was being said about PCB’s…and people were making money off of it, so I thought we should look at some of the Professional Cape Bretoners. This could have been my last run at it…”
– ” This was meant to be my last one…it featured the legends of Cape Breton and the image of the train was an afterthought. The Angel Pipers turned up again.”
– “Hubba Paris wrote a letter thanking me for including him in the Calendar…so I knew I had to include him next year! Video Gambling is so popular in these parts…I thought SOMETHING had to be said.”
– ABC’s of the CBLA. “This calendar actually has a collage of images from previous years. Some things turn up again and again. With the exception of the first one, every calendar has said HELLO STEWIE…my uncle’s nick name. You see, his name was Neil but everyone called him Stewie. And in turn, he called everyone else Stewie. Even the kids were ‘little Stewies!’ He passed away recently, so I decided to include under the G, Goodbye Stewie, along with his wheel chair.”
