New Dawn Meals on Wheels volunteers do more than just deliver meals door to door. Friendly, smiling faces bring joy to the program’s clients, many of whom live alone. These volunteers are often the daily contact for clients and they always make sure to spend a little extra time with each client to check in, ensure their safety, and engage in some much-needed conversation.
The New Dawn Meals on Wheels Program has more than 30 delivery routes throughout Sydney and surrounding area, providing meals more than 70 clients. To ensure these meals arrive at their destination, New Dawn relies heavily upon the help of dedicated volunteers. Through these volunteers, the organization is able to offer their clients both a lunch and supper menu.
New Dawn is currently seeking individuals who would like to get involved in meal delivery, particularly at suppertime. Delivery of lunch meals requires availability between the hours of 11am-1pm and supper between 4-6pm, with pick-up at the New Dawn Centre for Social Innovation on Nepean Street in Sydney.
