From October 2 through 4, 2009, the North Shore Gaelic Heritage Society will present the second annual Féis Fhiolmaichean na Reul-iùil (“Festival of the Guiding Star”), the world’s first Gaelic-language film festival.
The Féis (“faysh”) will include screenings of Canadian and Scottish films, live storyteller events, Gaelic poetry reading, workshops, and high-energy ceilidhs. All films are subtitled in English, and workshops are presented in English.
The Féis will be held at several venues across Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Check the Schedule for the listing of event times and locations. The Gaelic Singers Hall on Cabot Trail, in Breton Cove, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia is the main location and central box office.
