Andrea Beaton comes from a long line of musicians, composers and dancers. She is an award-winning fiddler, tune composer and recording artist who is known for her powerful bow and driving style. She tours and teaches internationally and is in great demand as a teacher at music camps and fiddling/dancing workshops.
Wendy MacIsaac is a fiddler, piano player, and stepdancer from Creignish. A founding member of Beòlach, she has also performed with The Cape Breton Summertime Revue, Capercaillie, The Chieftains, Ashley MacIsaac, toured with The Rankin Sisters and toured and recorded with Mary Jane Lamond. Wendy has released three albums and taught step-dancing at festivals and workshops around the world.
Joel Chiasson is a veteran piano player and step dancer from Cheticamp, strongly influenced by the masterful playing of Maybelle Chisholm-MacQueen and John Morris Rankin. After touring as a member of Ashley MacIsaac and the Kitchen Devils and the Natalie MacMaster Band, Joel continues to perform at various venues around the province, accompanying most of the fiddlers on the island.
Patrick Gillis grew up listening to traditional music in his childhood home in Scotsville. He began to play the guitar as a young boy and has become one of the most sought after guitar players in Cape Breton performing with many of Cape Breton’s finest musicians, including Natalie MacMaster, Ashley MacIsaac, and Glenn Graham. Patrick also plays with the popular Cape Breton group, Beòlach.
