Award-winning Newfoundland singer/songwriter Colleen Power stops by her second home for a show with old pals from the House of Rock — Mike Morrison, Mike LeLievre and Dave Mahalik. Power, who first landed in Cape Breton as a member of Live Girlz for ECMA 2000, found kinship at the northend Sydney home of Slowcoaster, Rock Ranger and the Squatters, and soon returned with her debut album, Lucky You Are. She quickly found a following in Cape Breton, throughout the Maritimes and beyond, and has since won a bunch of awards, reached number one on the charts in English and French, had her music used in film and on television, and released albums including Le Bonheur Domestique (2013), For Little Ones (2010), Rejects (2008), Terre-Neuvienne (2006), and Face and Eyes (2004). Power makes a rare appearance at the Black Diamond Wednesday on her way to play the Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Canso this weekend. She will also be performing in Halifax at The Carleton on Thursday.
