In recognition of Governor’s Pub & Eatery‘s years of supporting local music, CBMIC is taking over their beer garden stage every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday until August 4th. Showtimes are 7-10pm and will feature some of Cape Breton’s best musicians. Sponsored by ReMax Park Place, MacDonald Auto Group and 902 Advertising Group.
Mike LeLievre is a veteran of the Cape Breton music scene, having played in the bars since he was 13 years old and touring nationally and internationally with various acts since then. Perhaps best-known as Slowcoaster’s bassist, LeLievre is a virtuoso on guitar, bass, mandolin, and slide guitar, and a virtual jukebox when it comes time to sing songs. He also writes songs and plays tunes for one-nighters, all-weekers, good-times, bad-times, ballrooms, and barrooms. LeLievre is a member of exciting new trio Knotwerk (with Steven MacDougall and Colin Grant), the Jordan Musycsyn Band, and “the world-famous” Squatters as well as playing on occasion with Carmen Townsend and Colette Deveaux, and hosting the longest-running open mic in town.
