The Halifax 2011 Canada Games Host Society invites young artists to consider the National Artist Program. The National Artist Program (NAP) will bring together 39 emerging artists between the ages of 16 and 22 years, to collaborate in a two week interdisciplinary residency. The NAP offers you a unique opportunity to practice your chosen craft, under the mentorship of leading Canadian artists, in a collaborative and cross-disciplinary setting with other young artists from across Canada.
Each province and territory will select three artists based on artistic excellence and ability to collaborate. The applicants will demonstrate artistic excellence and commitment to the creative development of their artistic practice. The successful applicants will become members of Team Nova Scotia for the Halifax 2011 Canada Games from February 11 to 27, 2011.
A Volunteer Team Manager is also needed for the young artists representing Nova Scotia at the Halifax 2011 Canada Games. The Halifax 2011 Canada Games Host Society is seeking one adult from Nova Scotia to accompany the three artists to participate in the National Artist Program (NAP). The Team Manager provides guidance and support in advance of and during the February 11-27, 2011 Halifax Canada Games.
