Comedy returns to Membertou Trade and Convention Centre Friday night with A Night of Comedy starring Mike MacDonald and featuring Marc Suave and Carey Lee.
For over 30 years Mike MacDonald has been making audiences laugh with his quirky observations of everyday life. Known for his legendary comedic instinct, he has written and starred in films, appeared on such TV shows as the Late Show with David Letterman, The Arsenio Hall Show, Just For Laughs, Showtime’s Comedy Club All-Star Show, A&E’s An Evening at the Improv, and Comedy Central’s The A List. He hosted both the Gemini Awards and the Just For Laughs 10th Anniversary Special, and is the only comedian in the history of Just for Laughs to perform in every gala show. He has been nominated for two Gemini awards, and two CableAce awards for best writing and best comedy.
In 2011, MacDonald was diagnosed with hepatitis C, and by the spring of 2012 the disease had shut down his liver and kidneys. He was placed on a list and waited for a liver transplant. On March 15, 2013 MacDonald underwent a successful seven-hour liver transplant operation. He is doing well and has returned to the stage.
It has been 7 years since Mike has performed at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre, and he is looking forward to re-connecting with fans here in Cape Breton. Reserved Cabaret Seating, must be 19 or older.
