According to a press release received this week, less than stellar advance sales and recent situations from other all ages shows at the Bicentennial Gym facility have forced the cancellation of the Classified concert this coming Saturday, December 3rd, 2011.
The show was originally scheduled for November 12 at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion for 19 years of age and older but there was a huge outcry from the community for an all ages show. “We thought we would listen to the community and we rescheduled the show for this coming Saturday at a new venue because the Pavilion would not allow an all ages show,” stated the promoter.
Advance ticket sales did not increase any, and as a result of some recent events at the Bicentennial Gym and problems associated with similar events, the Management of the CBRM facility in consultation with and supported by the Cape Breton Regional Police and the community in that district, has decided to not accept any bookings for concert and dance events involving underage teens.
Low advance ticket sales didn’t justify trying to find another venue and as a result, the show has been cancelled. Refunds for the Classified show can done at the original point of sale.
