With pandemic restrictions and smaller than normal gathering sizes continuing, CBRM Recreation’s ConnectArts has worked hard to reach as many residents of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality as possible to foster creativity and artistic expression. This continues with the release of the ConnectArts Community Colouring Book, featuring 26 pages of drawings from youth and adults with connection to our region.
ConnectArts facilitators spent the Summer collecting submissions via email, with participants aged from as young as 6 years old to others in their 20s and 30s. Submissions include artistic interpretations of Cape Breton and locations such as Trinity United Church in Whitney Pier to various portrayals of animals, people, and a message to follow your dreams. Altogether, over a dozen participants submitted art for the 26 page booklet.
The ConnectArts Community Colouring Book is available now to download and print at http://colour.cbrmrecreation.ca. A limited number of physical copies are now available for free at the McConnell Library in Sydney, with copies being distributed to all twelve branches of the Cape Breton Regional Library over the next week or so.
