Singer-songwriter Dylan Devoe’s debut solo single, “Caper Run”, is available on all streaming platforms now. The song was recorded at Broken Clock Recording Studio and features Travis Morrison on drums and backing vocals by Redmond MacDougall. The story is based on Devoe’s hardworking family from the Sydney Mines Coal Mining Industry to Fort McMurray, keeping their nose to the grindstone to provide for their family. It also touches on the point that we must remember to “work to live” and not “live to work”. Enjoy the little things in life before they’re gone.
Colette Deveaux is hosting her single release party this Friday at Daniels Alehouse and Eatery featuring Dylan Devoe, and Justin Vallis & Morgan Currie. The band will be playing the new single, “Glad You’re Here”, and songs from the upcoming album, Honey. Get your tickets before they’re all sold out!
The Summer Rabbit released their new single, “Howl into the Night” on Friday, and it is available on all streaming platforms! A dive into the unknown, this spooky tune features the ever-shredding Matthew Fraser on lead guitar! Give it a listen here.
Mi’kmaw fiddler Morgan Toney has released a video for his single, “Ko’jua”. This modern arrangement of the old Mi’kmaq dance song has caught the attention of CBC, CTV, Cape Breton Post, and various radio stations as far as Erin, Ontario. Toney is teaming up with producer Keith Mullins to make an album [ Read more here…] and “Ko’jua” is available for download by contributing to the gofundme campaign for the album. More songs will be added to the dropbox folder as they are recorded.
CBMIC Industry and Venue Member, Inverness County Centre for the Arts, is pleased to announce an initiative to support local musicians. The ICCA House Concerts, sponsored by Protocase, will bring the community together in a safe way to enjoy intimate performances from some outstanding performers. The series will feature Scott Macmillan & Brian Doyle with Jeanie Beks (November 7); Beech Hill (November 21); Dawn & Margie Beaton with Lisa Cameron (December 5); and The Town Heroes for the release of their new album, Again. Tickets are $30 plus service fees.
