Voting is now open for this year’s Eagle Talent Search contest and the quality of talent is going to make it hard for people to pick one band or singer they want to see in the finals on Saturday, August 14. The finals take place at Daniel’s in Sydney where finalists perform for a chance to win a recording session at Soundpark Studios with Jamie Foulds, 7-time ECMA Recording Engineer of the Year winner.
While listeners get to pick the finalists by going online to vote (www.eagle1035.com), a panel of judges will pick the winner. The judges are all industry professionals who’ll give the three finalists critique of their songs and performance as well as choose the champion. “It’s an unbelievable opportunity of a lifetime just to make it to the finals,” says Jamie Foulds of Soundpark Studios. “ Receiving advice from judges who are working in the industry is a huge advantage for someone looking for a career in music.”
Judges include internationally acclaimed singer / songwriter Aselin Debison who shot to fame at the age of 9 after singing at a rally in her hometown of Glace Bay. Signed by Sony Classical after being spotted at the ECMA’s, Debison is now starting her own label and getting ready to release her latest album “Homeward Bound.” Debison will also mentor the winner helping them develop their song so they’re ready to make the most out of their recording session. Also on the judging panel is chart-topping singer / songwriter Aaron Lewis who’s most recent hit “Discovering Gold” written by Gordie Sampson and Fred Lavery.
“We are blown away by the sheer talent we have received this year,” enthuses Jay Bedford, Music Director for 1035 The Eagle. “I really think the judges are going to have a hard time picking this year’s winner.”
Voting starts Monday, July 12 and runs until Sunday, August 2. Go to
