Currently in the midst of a nineteen date cross-Canada tour opening as a solo performer for rock legends Heart, Carmen Townsend took the one day she had to spend in Cape Breton this winter and filmed a series of live off-the-floor videos with her band, The Shakey Deals, to promote the release of her debut album Waitin’ and Seein’.
The location’s original 1930’s era brick walls and hardwood floors provided the perfect backdrop for a session that was organized in the whirlwind that has encircled Townsend since releasing her album in Australia in November. The industrial vibe of the visuals also complements the gritty musical performance which was recorded live by Soundpark Studio‘s Jamie Foulds.
Local company Shot on Site Media brought in several DSLR cameras from Toronto which made for very rich visuals but also added to the hectic nature of the shoot. It was the first time the crew had used that style of camera and the rentals arrived just as they made their way to the location.
Four more songs from the series will be released in the upcoming weeks.
