North River native, Carmel Mikol, returns home to present three live music concerts May 3rd, 4th, and 5th in intimate venues around Cape Breton. Her special guest is ECMA winner Kim Wempe. They offer up a high-energy, collaborative show, mixing roots and blues rhythms with americana/folk songwriting.
Carmel Mikol and Kim Wempe are no strangers to the road. Since their first cross-Canada tour together in 2009, they have logged some serious mileage in their solo careers. Each has released two studio albums and garnered critical and fan acclaim for their award-winning songwriting and unique voices.
Kim Wempe’s vocals are haunting and smoky, often compared to Janis Joplin and Adele.
