Destination Cape Breton Association (DCBA) is delighted to announce the winners of this year’s Tourism Awards of Excellence. The Awards are presented annually at the Association’s Industry Day to recognize success, leadership, and innovation in the tourism industry on Cape Breton Island, and reward individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond to ensure exceptional visitor experiences. The Awards were presented last week at the Gaelic College.
The winners are:
Marketing Award – Keltic Quay, Whycocomagh
For outstanding marketing efforts of an individual or organization in supporting tourism on Cape Breton Island.
Product Development Award – Groovy Goat Farm & Soap Company, Ingonish
For tourism businesses that have gone the extra mile to deliver an outstanding and innovative visitor experience.
Visitor Servicing Award – Celtic Colours Box Office Staff, Sydney
For an individual or team within tourism that has stood out in delivering outstanding customer service.
Small Business of the Year – Maison Fiset House, Cheticamp
Awarded to a small business (10 employees or less) that displays excellence in small business operations in the tourism industry.
Volunteer of the Year Award – Blaise MacEachern (Celtic Shores Coastal Trail) Judique
Recognizes the voluntary contribution by an individual over many years to Cape Breton Island’s tourism industry.
Hall of Fame Award – Parks Canada Cape Breton Field Unit, Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Fortress of Louisbourg and Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site
Awarded for the personal and professional achievement and contribution by an individual or individuals over many years to Cape Breton Island’s tourism industry.
Special Ambassador Award – Rob Calabrese, Sydney
Awarded for the creativity, ingenuity and passion of a Cape Breton ambassador.
