It all started with a contest that gave Kyle Mischiek the opportunity to realize his dreams could become reality.
Mischiek, 16, from Florence, Cape Breton, has only been in the rap game for seven months, but has performed with some of hip-hop’s most talented MCs, made the finals in The Next Big Thing Talent Competition and attended Gordie Sampson’s Songwriting Camp this summer.
“This has all been an unreal experience. I didn’t realize how much I wanted this to be my future until I entered the Open 4 Contest and Next Big Thing,” said Mischiek. “These experiences have helped to shape me as an artist and this is only the beginning.”
The young artist has recently released his debut mix-tape and first single, “We Are an Island Remix” featuring Trax Cordero and Taylor Burton. He will be celebrating the release with a party, Thursday night at Flavor 19. Those in attendance will be the first to watch the highly anticipated music video for “We Are an Island Remix”, which will be released on YouTube at midnight that evening. There will also be special guest performances throughout the evening.
“I am so excited for this CD release party and can’t wait to celebrate this achievement with my friends, family and fans,” said Mischiek. “I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support I have received over the last few months.”
The CD release party will be held at Flavor 19 on August 16, 7pm-9pm, open to all ages. Tickets are $20, include a full buffet and are available at The Cape Breton Fudge Company. There will be a 19 plus party following the CD release.
