The Cape Breton Music Industry Co-operative (CBMIC) is pleased to administer the newly formed Cape Breton International Music Export Fund. This fund will benefit Cape Breton based musicians by providing financial support to export-ready artists who are pursing career opportunities internationally.
“Those who are interested in applying for funding should begin by obtaining the funding guidelines and the application form from our website. We strongly encourage applicants to contact CBMIC’s program officer to discuss their application prior to submitting,” says Jennifer Pino, CBMIC Board Chair.
The total cost of this project is $66,666 and Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC) has provided an investment of $50,000. The Cape Breton International Music Export Program will provide up to 75% of an applicant’s total project budget up to a maximum of $7500. There is no deadline for the application and projects will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis until the funds have been exhausted. All applications for funding will be assessed by a jury of music industry professionals as appointed by CBMIC’s board of directors.
