The lineup for the 2003 East Coast Music Awards Concert Series was announced this week and will feature Cape Bretoners Mary Jane Lamond, Slainte Mhath, John Gracie and The Cottars. The Concert Series kicks off Thursday, February 13 and wraps up Saturday, February 15. Tickets are $25/night (includes HST) and show time from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. each night.
The Neptune Theatre will host the first of two Concert Series evenings. Thursday night, called Girls Night Out includes performances by Linda Carvery (2002 Jazz Artist of the Year), Newfoundland’s Ennis Sisters (4 ECMA 2003 Nominations), and Nova Scotia’s Gaelic singing sensation Mary Jane Lamond (2002 Roots / Traditional Solo Artist of the Year).
Friday night’s Valentine’s Day special, entitled Young at Heart includes Celtic musicians Slainte Mhath (3 ECMA 2003 Nominations), Newfoundland singer/songwriter Colleen Power (2002 New Artist of the Year Nominee), and New Brunswick Francophone artist Jean Francois Breau (Nominated for 2003 Francophone Recording of the Year). The concert series wraps up at the Dalhousie Arts Centre, Rebecca Cohn Auditorium on Saturday, February 15 with Atlantic Mix. It features Nova Scotia’s John Gracie (three-time ECMA Male Artist of the Year), the youthful quartet of The Cottars (2 ECMA 2003 Nominations), and PEI’s own Lennie Gallant (5 ECMA 2003 Nominations, including Album of the Year).
