Boardmore Theatre and Zuppa Theatre Team up for The Restless Actor Workshop
(Sydney, NS)- Cape Breton University’s Boardmore Theatre will team up with Zuppa Theatre Co. to host an intensive two-day training workshop for actors of all experience levels. The workshop will run October 4-5, 2014 at the Boardmore Playhouse.
Zuppa Theatre’s Co-Artistic Directors Alex McLean and Ben Stone will lead participants in an electrifying workshop that combines training in le jeu and physical theatre to reveal new ways for actors to light up the stage.
“Through their use of movement and physical awareness for the actor, Zuppa Theatre is one of Nova Scotia’s most innovative theatre companies,” says Todd Hiscock, Director of the Boardmore Playhouse. “Their collectively created plays have wowed audiences across the country and internationally. The Boardmore Theatre is extremely fortunate to have been able to partner with Zuppa Theatre for The Restless Actor workshop. Participants are going to love this experience.”
Zuppa Theatre Co. is a Halifax-based touring company with a unique collaborative process that favours the intuitive over the formulaic and thrives on the play between the imagined and the real. At the heart of each show is the restless spirit of the actor.
The cost of the workshop for adult participants is $50, students will pay $25 and there is no charge for CBU students who wish to participate.
