Join Jenn Power, Community Leader of L’arche Cape Breton as she shares her passion about “Unlikely Teachers: Lessons Learned in Community”. She’ll illustrate how the lives of men and women with intellectual disabilities, people whose stories are overlooked and whose gifts go unnoticed, have been the agents of transformation in her life and the lives of countless others.
Opening the evening will be Jim Foulds, who will share “The Case FOR a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve for the Bras d’Or.”
The evening’s artistic presentation comes from the musical troupe of members of L’Arche Cape Breton, Joyful Noise – a showcase for the unique talents of this remarkable community. Simplicity, beauty, and the love of music are at the heart of Joyful Noise, and they relish the opportunity to share this heart with others.
“IDEAS: Powered by Passion” is about encouraging new thinking through speech and music. This series is meant to uncover the passions of our people through the sharing of their stories.
Complimentary organic, fair trade coffee or tea will be available. Attendees are invited to come early or stay late and browse the Gallery on the main level. Wednesday, April 6th at 7:00 pm at the Centre for Craft and Design (3rd floor). The dialogue will continue later at Governors Pub.
