On Saturday, March 23 at 8:30 pm, ACAP Cape Breton encourages you to participate in Earth Hour by joining hundreds of millions of people around the world in turning off your lights for an hour to demand action on climate change.
This annual event started in 2007 in Australia, and has grown to include a record 152 countries and territories and 7,001 cities and towns. This year, Earth Hour asks people to go beyond the hour and commit to an action, big or small, that they will sustain for the future of our planet.
“We will be turning off our outside lights at the Centre for Sustainable Communities this Saturday night for Earth Hour,” says Susan King, executive director at ACAP Cape Breton. “ACAP CB staff is always available to provide information to residents on how to extend their efforts beyond the hour through home energy efficiency, active transportation, and water conservation.”
